More than 50 participants and 6 teams have already registered for the upcoming competitions at the Mobiliar Arena (see also Individual Competition Registrations and Registered Teams)
The spotlight is on Lucas Malcotti: The Swiss fencer made history in July 2026 when he won the gold medal in the men’s individual épée event at the World Championships in Hong Kong. With his dramatic 12–11 victory over Italy’s Davide Di Veroli in the final, he was crowned world champion—the first Swiss athlete ever to do so in this discipline. Now all eyes are on the home World Cup, where Malcotti and his teammates will face strong international competition.
Expectations for the Swiss team are also high. As the defending champions in their home tournament, the Swiss fencing community is naturally hoping for a repeat of last May’s victory!
