Alexis Bayard has been one of the defining figures in Swiss fencing for several years. With consistently strong performances at the highest international level, the épée fencer has established himself among the world’s best and has been one of the most important athletes in the Swiss national team for around four years.
His greatest individual success to date came at the 2022 European Championships, where he made an exclamation mark with a bronze medal and finally cemented his place among the international elite. He has also achieved several podium places at World Cup and Grand Prix tournaments – competitions in which the best fencers in the world regularly compete. With his consistency, tactical maturity and mental strength, Bayard has made a name for himself on the international stage.
Another highlight of his career was his participation in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. There he represented Switzerland both in the singles and as an important pillar of the Swiss epee team.
