In addition to Alexis Bayard, who is competing in his first serious competition at the top level since the Olympic Games and after winning the Swiss championship title a week ago, Ian Hauri (Geneva, bronze medal winner at this year’s European Championships in Basel), Hadrien Favre (Bern) and Clément Métrailler (Sion) also qualified for the main draw.
Hadrien Favre will face Olympic champion Koki Kano (JPN) in the first match on the blue piste at 08:30. Alexis Bayard (against Ma from Korea) and Ian Hauri (against Matsumoto from Japan) will compete on the green piste at 10:10 and 10:35. Clément Métrailler (at 11:25 a.m. on the blue piste) will face the young American Samuel Imrek, the current number 12 in the world rankings.
