For the first time, 324 participants from 60 nations will be competing at the Berne World Cup in epee fencing, which begins tomorrow. This means that last year’s record number of participants (302) will once again be pulverized. The organizers have made excellent preparations for the huge rush. There are 19 fencing pistes available for the 44 preliminary rounds, more than ever before.
Last year’s winner Lucas Malcotti and second-placed Alexis Bayard (both from Switzerland) are also among the participants.
